You know how much we love the Rhythm & Moves program and lessons, but we thought you’d like to read what others think.
A few words from the Centres…
“Music and movement is an important part of our curriculum at our service, over the past years we have tried different programs using companies like ‘Hey Dee Ho’ and ‘Jump For Joy’ but we found the children would lose interest after about 3 months. We have been using Rhythm and Moves for the past 18 months and the children are still very excited on music day. We find the children are learning more about music as opposed to just singing and dancing, they go home and tell their parents what they have learnt with Rhythm and Moves. The themes are relevant to what we are teaching the children throughout the year. We use Rhythm and Moves in all our rooms including the babies which has really helped with their confidence. Rhythm and Moves have become a big part of our centre and we would be very lost without them.”
Melanie Colwell, Director – Dorset Early Learning & Kindergarten
“After having had another music program at our service it seemed their program was very repetitive, the children were losing interest and no longer wanting to participate. Making the change to Rhythm and Moves was the best thing we ever did.
Every single child at our service absolutely loves Thursdays when Rhythm and Moves come to visit, their program is outstanding. They play the guitar, sing and get all the children up and involved. Not only are they having a great time but they are learning so many things along the way, from different languages, to letters, numbers and even sign language. It is not just a music program, Rhythm and Moves is educational and links in with the EYLF.
The amount of praise that our families have for this music program is incredible, all the children go home singing new songs, saying words in other languages and constantly talking about their presenter.
I would absolutely recommend Rhythm and Moves to other services, you will not be disappointed.”
– Holly McDonnell, Centre Director – Koala Childcare and ELC Mt Waverley
“Cam’s weekly music session with our pre-school children are diverse and creative. Cam includes funky music, rock n’ roll styles of music, melody’s and classical music for the children to listen to, discuss or dance to. Cam is educating our children about musical terms; such as ‘piano’ (meaning soft) and Forte (meaning loud). Cam encourages our children to experiment with different forms of percussion instruments. Cam eagerly plays the guitar and sings common songs or his own preferred songs with the children. Our children love Cam and always ask the staff “Is Cam coming today?” or “Is it music time today?” Cam’s sessions enrich our pre-school program and we consider Cam to be part of our team!”
– Anne-Marie Willcox-Morna, Director – Canterbury and District Pre-School
“I have worked at our service for over 5 years now and during my time we have had a number of different music programs as incursions. I remember the day Cam came to our service to advertise Rhythm and Moves by doing a trial, we all felt a sigh of relief as we hadn’t had much luck with the previous companies.
Rhythm and Moves have a unique and interesting approach to their program. They play guitar whilst teaching and encouraging the children to get involved in many different ways. As a lot of the songs they sing with the children are known classics, (such as The Beatles Yellow Submarine, Elvis songs etc) they still incorporate the educational side of things with the children learning colours, numbers and emotions.
All our children and educators love when Rhythm and Moves come. The children are always asking when is music day and count down the days!
I would highly recommend having the Rhythm and Moves music program as a regular incursion for the children as they will love it!”
– Renee Bettiol, Centre Manager – Croydon World of Learning
“I have seen many music programs over the course of my early childhood career but none that compare to the quality demonstrated by ‘Rhythm and Moves’. Cam captivates the children’s attention with his lovely signing voice and acoustic guitar and has developed a wonderful relationship with the children and staff. The program includes singing, movement and instruments using musical styles that are both classic and unique. Cam leads the children enthusiastically and ensures that his sessions focus not only on the actual practice of music but allows for the teaching of other educational musical concepts. Sessions provide opportunities for revisiting past musical experiences however new elements are often incorporated in order to retain interest and allow the children to be further challenged. As an early childhood educator and mother of two preschool children I would highly recommend the rhythm and moves program. Most importantly, it is a lot of fun!”
