About

Rhythm and Moves is an interactive, fun and educational music program for pre-schoolers, from babies up to kinder aged children.

Designed by husband and wife team Cam and Lauren Ewart, the program draws on 10 years of experience working in the field of children’s music education and is presented weekly by a team of musicians.

Through the use of an acoustic guitar and singing, the presenters not only teach pre-schoolers basic musical terms, rhythm and melody, they will get them up, dancing and having a great time in the process.

The introduction of basic percussion instruments and group song writing, gives the pre-schoolers an interactive hands on experience that will not only boost their fine motor skills and co-ordination, but will ensure participation by all.

“Music training positively influences the development of growing brains. Researchers have shown that learning music leads to increases in neurological development related to auditory processing, fine motor coordination, memory and attention. These are all skills that help children excel in the classroom. From my experience as a piano teacher and provisional school psychologist, I have seen first hand the positive impact music can have on children’s learning and see music lessons as a fun way for children to learn a number of important skills.”

– Alicia Chodkiewicz, Provisional Educational Psychologist.

Rhythm & Moves wholeheartedly agree with the quote above, so Cam and his wife Lauren decided to write a program that encouraged pre-schoolers to appreciate music, while teaching them valuable skills for their development. The interactive nature of the program is vital, as it encourages every child to participate, giving them confidence in group situations, which is integral at this age before schooling starts.
